Energy Dynamics, Ltd. (EnDyn) added to Alice's beautification
efforts by demolishing a deteriorating building in the city's
West Main Street area.
The property, located at 400 W. Main Street (southeast corner
of Main St. and Savage St.), was the original location of Hub
City Chevrolet/GMAC, and included office spaces, a showroom,
parts department, and service department. The property was
purchased from GMAC in 1995 for EnDyn's long-term expansion
requirements.
"We purchased the property with the intent of dismantling the
structure for our future growth," explained Tracy Little, EnDyn
President. "But with an estimated demolition and disposal cost
of over $150,000, the expense had not been justified without an
immediate need."
"Today, because of continued success and growth in our
domestic and international markets, we will be building another
warehouse and office building," said Little.
The new buildings will be located at the northeast corner of
Savage and Main, in EnDyn's current engine yard. The refurbished
property across the street will become the company's new engine
yard. EnDyn's exchange engines, compressor equipment, and lease
fleet will be relocated to the new yard in the near future in
preparation for the expansion.
The demolition and disposal of the GMAC building, new
fencing, and addition of hard-packed caliche has been a
five-month project. Little added, "Now that it's complete, I'm
sure that everyone will agree that it is an improvement for the
community."
Little summed up EnDyn's commitment to ongoing beautification
efforts by stating, "As a corporate citizen of Alice, Texas,
America, EnDyn is concerned with the positive perception of our
community on a daily basis. It is our commitment to do
everything we can to help the Westside of Alice, as well as our
entire city to grow, prosper, and attract new businesses."
