EnDyn, Ltd. shipped three complete SUPERIOR® engine/compressor
packages to northern Peru. The $2.85 Million project, initiated by
EnDyn's Peruvian distributor, Best World Supply, supported
Petrotech's new natural gas compression station near Talara, Peru.
"We are especially proud of the effort that our employees put into
this project," said Mark Little, EnDyn's Director of Service. "The
scope of the work was large – three complete packages that were
totally customized to Petrotech's needs. Petrotech is a valued
customer of ours, and we worked hard to ensure that their exact
horsepower and pressure specifications were met."
The SUPERIOR®
packages featured natural gas fired engines with reciprocating,
multiple-stage compressors. A total of 7950 Horsepower (2650
HP/unit) was supplied. The final gas discharge pressure of the
units is 2000 psi, with a total combined gas flow of 38 mmscfd. The
units were also equipped with state-of-the-art programmable
Altronic control panels, utilizing CPU-95 electronic ignition
systems along with EPC200c AR-to-fuel ratio controllers.
"Petrotech
needed the additional horsepower and customized packaging because
they plan to use these units for natural gas sales as well as for
injection service," explained Jack McMonagle, EnDyn's Manager of
Special Projects. "South America is really in a growth state for
the gas sales market at the present time. In the past, South
American operators had not used natural gas to its full
potential. Instead, they reinjected the gas into the formation
to enhance oil output or burnt it in flare stacks. This new
Petrotech station is different because they plan to sell the
natural gas for use as fuel for local power generation plants."
In addition to supplying the
SUPERIOR®
units, EnDyn sent two of the company's Alice-based
service representatives to Peru to assist in the commissioning and
start-up of the packages. The EnDyn employees assisted Petrotech's
current operators in the installation, training, and
troubleshooting of the new systems.
